Bosch WAS28461GB/07 washing machine gave error during wash cycle, door locked, switching off then selecting any option, drain, spin, etc, immediately gives E:57 error again. Tried resetting to no avail. Google searching suggests possible PCB Inverter circuit fault. Is it worth trying to repair? I recently fitted a new drum/door seal which will be wasted if machine written off.
Thanks for any help offered.

Bosch WAE24460AU/11 Washing Machine Will Not Agitate, Spin Or Drain

Hi Paul, I have Bosch WAE24460AU/11 washing machine. The washing starts filling fine with no fault codes at any time. When agitation starts the drum only “twitches” and does not rotate, when the agitation is due to change direction the drum “twitches” again but does not rotate. If I rotate the drum by hand before the next “twitch”, and if I chosen the next rotation direction correctly, the drum will continue to rotate by itself, but will not continue to rotate by itself following the next “twitch”. The “twitching” carries on with the clock counting down to 1 minute without pumping down or stopping, and the clock just stays on 1 minute.
First, I removed the brushes, inspected and replaced them as they look relatively new and intact, no change in the issue. Secondly, I acquired a second-hand mother board complete with the entire wiring loom, this was fitted which also resulted in no change to the issue. I have measured the resistance over the terminals of the motor and compared them to the resistances shown on the Bosch wiring diagram drawing 21352 Rev D, specifically for the X2 motor plug. Looking on the brushes end of the motor with the terminal block upper most, the resistance over the left-hand two terminals is 0.8 Ohms (I think terminals 2 & 3), over the middle two terminals 2.3 Ohms (I think terminals 4 & 5) and over the two right-hand terminals 15 Ohms (I think terminals 6 & 7). All these resistances seem to correspond well with the resistances shown on the Bosch wiring diagram. I have also inspected the commutator and as far as can tell it looks intact.
Frankly I am at a loss now, I thought it would be a motherboard problem, but unless the second-hand one has exactly the same problem as the original motherboard then I can rule this out, what are the chances? The fact the motor can be hand cranked and then rotates by itself suggests to me a motor issue, potentially the speed sensor?
I look forward to your advice and/or diagnosis! Rob.
Bosch WFO2466GB Washing Machine Drum Stopped Working
Bosch WFX2867GB/06 Washing Machine Not Agitating Or Spinning

Hi,
Thank you for inviting me to
leaving my opinion on your poll about manufacturers building in obsolescence to appliances. I was thinking exactly about that few days a go. I thought of changing the motor on my …..
Bosch Exxcel 1400 express WFX 2867GB/06 …. to fix a problem (did not agitate or spin) it developed. After fitting the 2nd motor ( from a Bosch Exxcel 1400 Express – WAE28464GB), It all worked out well. The original motor looks good from outside and the motor brushes/bearings are in good condition, accept one of the brush connectors seems to have come a bit lose. Please can you advise me if I can test this motor before I throw it?
Kind regards,
Raj.
