I have just watched your review video on the Asko washing machine. I have an Asko W2084C washing machine which is a cheaper machine in the same series. I have a couple of comments on the video and then I have a question.
The first comment is in response to your observation about the difficulty in opening the filter door, The washer has a tool for opening the filter door which is held in the back of the detergent door. You need pull the detergent drawer right out to get to the tool. It slides into a couple of grooves on the underside of the drawer.,
The second comment concerns your observation about the water hose. The hose on Asko machines is made of PEX and will never burst. I have had a hose on a washer of another brand burst and created an absolute mess in the laundry.
Now to my question: I have found that the door seal on my machine is leaking, particularly during the drum wash cycle. I have inspected the seal and the ring against which the seal sits. They both look fine. I then spoke to an independent appliance repairer who told me that Asko found a deficiency with the double-articulated hinge design that was the cause of the seal leaking. He claimed that Asko has produced a modified hinge which is now being fitted to the latest machines. There are many reports of current generation Asko washers leaking, but I have not heard about the hinge having been redesigned from any other source. I would like to confirm that this is the case, before I spend significant money on having the hinge of my machine replaced. Are you able to confirm whether Asko has redesigned the hinge? If so, do you know from when the redesigned hinge was being fitted to new machines?
