Hi Paul. I have a serious problem which is my AEG TR718L4B tumble dryer isn’t getting hot enough to dry my clothes properly anymore. The clothes persistently come out damp and it takes much longer than it used to. I’ve cleaned the lint filter and checked the ventilation but it doesn’t cure. What should I do?

Hi Eric, sorry to hear about the problem with your AEG tumble dryer. Before answering your question, I need say that I’m currently at the IFA appliance show in Berlin and will be away for a couple of weeks. However, I got Starlink so I have an internet access.
These dryers typically have two thermostat, one is cut out thermostat and the other is cycling thermostat. First of all you should test both of them with a multimeter and check the heating element. Don’t forget to inspect any forward thermostats and the sensors inside the drum that sense humidity levels. These can sometimes get dirty and give false readings.
