Hi, purchased my beko bbif22300b oven about two years ago from AO and it’s been working well until recently. While using the grill to cook some steaks I noticed that the grill element wasn’t heating up properly. I’ve checked the settings and everything seems fine to me.I’ve tried resetting the oven and even left it unplugged for a while but there was no improvement. Other functions of the oven like the fan oven and the base element seem to be working fine.Could you help me diagnose whether the grill element is faulty or if there might be another issue? Also, if the grill element needs to be replaced, could you provide some guidance on how to do that?

I will try and help with this problem about Beko BBIF22300B Oven.
Good morning, Coby. Sorry to hear about the issue with your Beko oven. First, check the element’s continuity. This element should be around 2 kilowatts in power. You should get an ohms reading that matches this using an ohms law calculator or do a simple continuity check on the meter with one wire disconnected. Ensure the oven is unplugged from the electricity before you start.
Next, you can do a live test on the element when set to the grill function. This requires reconnecting the cooker to the electricity supply with the back cover off. Use a multimeter set to 240 volts to take a current and voltage reading at the element. You should see 240 volts when it’s on. If you have voltage, everything is fine except for the element, which will need replacing if it’s open circuit. If you don’t have a multimeter, you can buy a new one via our affiliate link.
If there’s no voltage, there might be an issue with the selector switch. Check for burn marks on any terminals. I’ve included the wiring diagram and full workshop manual below to help diagnose the problem. There are also videos to assist you in replacing the element or diagnosing the issue.
Links to your element and a full list of parts for this model are at the bottom of this page. Use the reference number in the diagrams to match up with the part number. These links are clickable and will search for any component on this cooker.

I hope this helps you repair your cooker. There is also a service manual that explains each fault or error in detail. It covers how to test and access each component. I’ve also included exploded diagrams and related videos on grill element faults with Beko BBIF22300B ovens below that might help you.

In the video, I mentioned about 5 common problems.;
- Oven will not heat because the element is faulty.
- Oven won’t heat because timer on manual.
- Oven won’t heat because of a fault with thermostat or selector switch.
- Oven not cooking evenly (one element faulty or fan not working correctly).
- Oven not reaching temperature normally an element but possible fan motor.
Common Problems with Electrical Ovens
- The oven will not turn on
The first thing you need to check is that the oven timer is not on auto if it is, turn it on to manual.
- No Heat in Oven
If the fan is running and the thermostat light comes on but you get no heat (or just the thermostat light on in non-fan ovens and cookers) then the probability is that the fan element or oven elements have failed.
- Electricity trips (Rcd) when I turn the oven on or grill
This is normally an element that has gone to earth, This is a well-known fault with electric ovens, the insulation breaks down in the elements and trips the RCD , best way is to stick a meter on each element and check that they have not got earth leaks on them. But this can also be a wiring fault.
- The grill element doesn’t work
This would usually indicate that the grill element is faulty. Check these: Grill element, Oven changeover switch, Overheat thermostat, Main oven thermostat, if used to regulate the grill temperature.
- The oven fan is not working or spinning correctly (slow) or is noisy
The fan motor may need to be replaced see video on this also the cooling fan motor can cause same problems.
- The oven overheats and burns everything
Normally this is a simple thermostat failure which would manifest itself as this symptom.
- The oven or cooker cuts out after it’s been on for a while
This is an overheating problem which can be caused by the fan motor or main oven thermostat or a faulty safety thermostat that will be causing the problem. It can also be caused by a failure of the cooling fan, where fitted, but usually these go noisy before failing, Safety thermostats are used to prevent the oven or cooker overheating and will shut the oven down.
