I have a Beko BBIMA13300XC built-in oven which is tripping the electrical supply when I use the grill mode, do you think its because of a faulty element? Or is there anything else can cause this problem? Please help mate.

I will try and help with this problem about Beko BBIMA13300XC Built In Single Oven,
Hi Emily,
Thanks for your question about your Beko oven. If your oven trips the electricity supply, it’s usually because an element is faulty. Since it trips when you turn on either the oven or the grill, you’ll need to check each element.
There are three elements in this cooker:
1. Grill Element: This is part number 262480067 and is numbered 107 in the diagram. It’s a dual circuit with two 1100-watt circuits.
2. Fan Oven Element: This is part number 262480012 and is numbered 98 in the diagram. It’s a circular fan oven element with 1800 watts.
3. Base Element: This is part number 262480011 and is numbered 106 in the diagram. Its wattage is usually around 1100 watts.
The best way to test these elements is with an insulation tester, but if you don’t have one, you can either get one via our insulation tester affiliate link or try another method. Disconnect each element one by one by removing the terminals (take a photo first to remember how to reconnect them). Then, try using the cooker with that element disconnected. If the cooker works, you’ve found the faulty element.
Another possible issue could be with the selector switch, which is numbered 576 in a different diagram. Inspect this switch as it can become faulty if not used correctly. Always turn the selector switch to the desired program before turning on the thermostat. If you want to change programs, turn off the thermostat first.
I’ve added some videos to help you test the elements and other components. You can also find many Beko-related videos on our YouTube channel, where I’ve made over 20 videos about this manufacturer. Additionally, I’ve provided a full wiring diagram and a detailed workshop manual for your cooker, which has 78 pages of useful information and test procedures.
I hope this helps you. I’m sorry for the delay in answering as I’m currently on a European tour visiting manufacturers like Gottak, who make many of Beko’s selector switches.
Good luck with your repair! At the bottom of the page, you’ll find a list of every part fitted to this cooker. Click on any part number to search for that component automatically.
All the best,
Paul
In the video, I mentioned about 5 common problems.;
- Oven will not heat because the element is faulty.
- Oven won’t heat because timer on manual.
- Oven won’t heat because of a fault with thermostat or selector switch.
- Oven not cooking evenly (one element faulty or fan not working correctly).
- Oven not reaching temperature normally an element but possible fan motor.
Coomon Problems with Electrical Ovens
- The oven will not turn on
The first thing you need to check is that the oven timer is not on auto if it is, turn it on to manual.
- No Heat in Oven
If the fan is running and the thermostat light comes on but you get no heat (or just the thermostat light on in non-fan ovens and cookers) then the probability is that the fan element or oven elements have failed.
- Electricity trips (Rcd) when I turn the oven on or grill
This is normally an element that has gone to earth, This is a well-known fault with electric ovens, the insulation breaks down in the elements and trips the RCD , best way is to stick a meter on each element and check that they have not got earth leaks on them. But this can also be a wiring fault.
- The grill element doesn’t work
This would usually indicate that the grill element is faulty. Check these: Grill element, Oven changeover switch, Overheat thermostat, Main oven thermostat, if used to regulate the grill temperature.
- The oven fan is not working or spinning correctly (slow) or is noisy
The fan motor may need to be replaced see video on this also the cooling fan motor can cause same problems.
- The oven overheats and burns everything
Normally this is a simple thermostat failure which would manifest itself as this symptom.
- The oven or cooker cuts out after it’s been on for a while
This is an overheating problem which can be caused by the fan motor or main oven thermostat or a faulty safety thermostat that will be causing the problem. It can also be caused by a failure of the cooling fan, where fitted, but usually these go noisy before failing, Safety thermostats are used to prevent the oven or cooker overheating and will shut the oven down.
