Hi my oven had a faulty thermostat as it was overheating and switching of the whole power to the oven till it cooled down for a while then would come back on, the electric timer was quite damaged with the heat so i changed the thermostat and at the same time changed the TOC switch oven seemed to be working fine again then the oven tripped the RCD on inspection the ne TOC had shorted some how so i was wondering if the timer being badly damaged might have controbuted to this happening. all elements and fan is working any help would be appreciated as ive not eaten for a week Thanks Rob

I will try and help with this problem ELBA PX906 Oven

Good afternoon Robert
The first thing you need to do is check all the wiring and make sure nothing is going to earth.
If you have replaced the thermostat and TOC then I suspect that you may have a worn element that is leaking to earth. You will need to test this with an insulation tester sometimes called a mega you may need to borrow this from someone who has electrical testing equipment.
You should be able to visually check the circuit board on the timer for any damage, they very rarely go wrong.
