Falcon Rangemaster FHDCT900SS/C Oven Motor Fan Won’t Work
Hi please help! I cannot find a replacement motor for this anywhere. Rangemaster won't help. I have found these but don't know if they will fit? https://www.espares.co.uk/product/es1552497/rangemaster-cooker-hood-motor-assemblyhttps://www.espares.co.uk/product/es1645541/rangemaster-cooker-hood-motor-assemblyhttps://www.buyspares.co.uk/falcon/cooker-hood/motor-assembly/product.pl?pid=1960253&shop=falcon&path=682856 How important is it to have an exact replacement or is there a workaround that can be done? I have been hitting a brick wall with this but am under some time pressure to get it sorted so any advice is gratefully recieved.

I will try and help with this problem about Falcon Rangemaster FHDCT900SS/C Oven,
Hi Katie, thanks for your great question. Manufacturers often build in obsolescence, so parts should be available for a long time. Unfortunately, it looks like your Rangemaster cooker fan motor is no longer available.
The power of the motor isn't too critical. Anything between 25 watts and 40 watts should be fine for running the oven fan motor. The key factors are the mounting points for the fan motor. You need to ensure that whichever universal fan motor you buy can be mounted correctly on the existing lugs. If not, you may need to modify them.
Another important aspect is the shaft length, which holds the fan blade. The shaft length must be accurate to ensure the fan blade sits correctly between the cavity wall and the fan guard plate. If it's too far into the oven, it will catch on the fan guard; if it's too short, it will catch on the back plate.
I've used universal fan motors many times and sometimes had to use washers to adjust the motor slightly. Finding the correct motor can be tricky, and I can't suggest a specific one without measurements from your old motor.
I recommend taking your existing motor out of your cooker and visiting appliance shops or repair centres with it in hand. They might be able to supply a motor with similar mountings and shaft length. Also, ensure you get a fan blade of the correct diameter to avoid it catching on your oven element.
I hope this helps you. At some point, I plan to make a video on this topic, but I don't have one at the moment.
