I recently replaced both motor capacitors on my Hoover DXH9A2TCE80/ condenser tumble dryer but I now have the E13 fault showing after about 5 minutes of operation.

Hi Andy, I’m sorry to hear about the problem with your heat pump tumble dryer. I’ve gathered some information to help you. I haven’t made many videos on these Hoover dryers because they clog up with fluff so easily. At a recent trade show, I noticed nearly every manufacturer is now adding double filtration systems to try and fix this issue. However, in a moist environment, dust will always stick. Until the airflow problem with the dust is solved, these dryers become very inefficient after three to five years.
Now, let’s address your problem. The E13 error code, according to the workshop manual and diagnostic procedure I’ve included, shows an NTC sensor problem. This could be either an open circuit or a short circuit. You need to check the NTC sensor and ensure the compressor is running and starting properly. Also, check the wiring and connection to the circuit board.
I don’t have any detailed videos on this repair, and I apologise for that. But I’ve added a full list of spare parts at the bottom of the page and included some links at the top. When ordering spare parts, make sure they match your model number from the identification plate.
