Hi there, I removed the filter from my mother-in-laws W/M to check for debris, it was clear! but when it went back, it leaked from the base of the turn-screw. So I removed it again, to see that the 2 seals around the filter were damaged. So I have replaced it with a now filter, but it still leaks. (Ever wished you’d left things well alone?) I have run my finger around the 2 mating surfaces, and they seem OK. Any suggestions?regardsDavid

I will try and help with this problem Hoover DYN 8144 D washing machine
It is a pain when this happens, sometimes the plastic does not sit right on the filter and even though you have replaced it still can be difficult to stop the leak. I would suggest just replacing the whole pump they are not that expensive.
I have also included a few videos below to assist you. As your model number was not of the id plate please double check on the id label to make sure it fits.
