Hi Paul. I have a hotpoint Aquarius WML940. It is 5 yrs old. Motor not turning at all. Checked board for bulging caps all looks good. It has an induction motor with good resistance. There are no flashing lights on facia. It fills with water, and will empty when dial is turned to drain. Can you offer any advice Thank you
Pat

If the drum is not turning is very likely to be a wiring, motor or main control board fault.
1st I would disconnect the motor loom and disconnect the loom where it attaches to the main circuit board. Then with a meter check each wire.
2nd take the motor of and get it tested so you can eliminate this. Some of the motors have thermal fuse in them so even if you have good resistance there might be circuit open.
3rd if the pcb is working as you say “its pumping out then filling” the only think i can think of is the motor triac’s on the board may have gone faulty, i have not done any work on these yet.
The only thing I can advise after knowing that the motor works after bench testing it and you know all the wiring is good then this really points to the PCB Fault and it will need replacing / repairing
I am sorry I can’t be more help
