I have a Hotpoint Aqualtis washing machine which is not starting the lights are flashing but the door will not open and I cannot start the machine can you help me on this, please.also have you any tricks for me getting my washing out off the machine until I get it repaired.

I will try and help with this problem on Hotpoint AQXXL 149 PI (UK)  washing machine,

Hi, good afternoon. If your washing machine is not starting and the door is stuck and you may have flashing lights, this could be a problem with the door interlock. This is quite a common fault on these Aqualtis washing machines. To open the door you need to pull the plinth off, then you will find a yellow cord or possibly another colour on the left-hand side which you can pull, this will release the door. If you have not got one of these you will need to take the lid off and manually press the door interlock as it does have an emergency release mechanism. Please be sure to turn the power off first
