There are 3 similar models to your Hotpoint HBD 5517 B UK Fridge Freezer please use your full model number which is written on the ID plate.
Hi Darren, sorry to hear about the problem with your Hotpoint fridge freezer. Based on the model number you provided, I found that there are three different versions of this machine, each with different components.
If your fridge is freezing everything, the thermostatic system might not be working correctly. However, I can’t confirm which system your fridge uses without more information. I found an exploded diagram of your fridge freezer with limited details. It’s unclear if it has a conventional thermostat made by someone like Danfoss or Ranko, or if it uses an electronic circuit with an NTC sensor. Once you have the full model number, you can find the correct parts through the link at the top of the page.
Unfortunately, Hotpoint doesn’t provide much technical information about their equipment. Hopefully, this will improve now that Beko has acquired the company.
