Hotpoint Hv8b593 Won’t spin

Maxine goes through cycle without spinning it fills and empties though. Before this happened washing machine had developed a terrible rumbling noise machine is about 2-3 years old

if your washing machine is not turning ​or spinning​ then you may have a problem with the carbon brushes in the motor, I have made this FAQ for you to assist you with your repair, the rumbling noise that you can hear could be something in the drum or you may have a problem with the bearings, I’ve included some videos below to assist you and finding the problem.

 

This machine looks like it had two different types of Motor fitted so I will need to see some pictures off the old carbon brushes to be able to match them up.
