I will try and help with this problem with your Hotpoint Reversomatic Dryer Plus 9324

Good morning, I have included some videos below to help you diagnose the fault, if you can hear a slight humming noise coming from the motor area then there’s a good chance that the capacitor has gone, as you say the belt is intact but all you can hear is the timer ticking, by following the video instructions and turning the machine on you can push the drum with the palm of your hand with the lid off and the Machine should start turning, the capacitor is the shunt that stops the motor. 

be careful doing this and follow the instructions in the video

Always check the size of the old capacitor before ordering as sometimes a different motor may have been fitted to this model of machine, the manufacturer states that it is a 6Uf capacitor but do check.
