Indesit I1D80WUK Vented Tumble Dryer Makes Scraping Noise While In Use

Hi, i have watched your video regarding the replacement of the shaft/bearing on a fixed drum shaft with a V4 Kit. I have an Indesit I1D80WUK vented tumble dryer and my model number isn’t shown, however this is exactly how my drum shaft/bearing is. Can you offer any help…it would be most appreciated.Kind regardsDave.

Sorry to hear about the problem with your Indesit I1D80WUK tumble dryer. These machines often have issues with the drum shaft. The phosphorus bronze bearing at the back wears out, and if left too long, it can cut through the shaft. This is a common issue, so it’s important to check.

Make sure to inspect the front felt pads and the two seals on the front and back of the drum. I’ve included a link for any spare parts you might need. However, I noticed that the V4 kit doesn’t list your model. This doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t fit; sometimes manufacturers don’t add all models to their database for universal kits.

The V4 kit might fit your machine, but I can’t guarantee it 100% because your model isn’t listed in the data. It’s not an expensive part, so you could check the pictures and match it by measurements. I’ve added exploded diagrams below; part number 413 is what you’re looking for, but I can’t match it to the V4 kit for sure.

This isn’t a difficult job, and there are many videos on our website showing how to do it. When drilling out the old shaft kit, make sure to remove any sharp edges to avoid snagging your clothes.
