I have LG F4V509WSE Washing Machine. DP2 fault on the display,taken door lock mechanism off and waters got inside and rusted springs. Help me please.

Hi Richard,
Sorry to hear about your LG washing machine troubles. DP2 doesn’t seem to be an error code I recognise. You might be seeing DE, which usually means there’s a problem with the door interlock mechanism. If water has got onto the door lock, you might need to replace it. This is a common issue with LG washing machines, as their door locks can fail.
Water should never touch any electrical parts. I’ve included a link above for spare parts you might need. However, if water has damaged the door interlock, it could have also harmed the circuit board by causing a short circuit.
I’ve added some videos below to help you replace the door lock. But first, fix the leak immediately to prevent more water from reaching any electrical components.
