Samsung RSG5UUMH Fridge Freezer Not Working

I completed all the Supplier checks, fault still there.It appears the unit still thinks the samsung RSG5UUMH Fridge Freezer temp is correct, the Freezer Temp display reads -18 and Fridge 4. I put a temp monitor in both sections but freezer actually -2 to +2. I would guess the interface board is not reading the temps correctly or the freezer temp, is stuck at -18.

Hi Christopher, sorry to hear about the problem with your fridge freezer. It could be a faulty circuit board or an issue with the NTC sensors. Without seeing the machine, it’s hard to pinpoint the exact problem. The control board usually reads from sensors to display the temperature in the compartments. If these sensors are faulty, it could affect the circuit board or the sensor itself.

You mentioned the freezer is only minus 2 and the fridge is plus 2, which is definitely incorrect. A common issue with frost-free fridge freezers is ice building up behind the freezer compartment. This happens because the freezer blows air into the fridge to maintain temperature. Excess ice can block this airflow, causing inefficient cooling and warmer temperatures.

First, check for ice build-up behind the panel. A quick test I recommend is to open both doors and unplug the appliance for 48 hours to let it defrost naturally. Transfer your food to another location to keep it safe. After 48 hours, plug it back in and let it run for 12 hours. If the temperatures are correct using a manual thermometer, then it’s likely a problem with the defrost system or one of its elements.
