Hello again, Our Samsung Ecobubble 8kg Washing Machine is a 7 year old 4 button model. We have tried the test procedure and if we move to the Spn test it doesn’t spin and after a miniue or two puts up the 5e code. The drain filter is still spotless and again, we would very much appreciate your thoughts please. Thanks

Hi Steve, as mentioned before, if your machine doesn’t empty within the set time, it might halt the spin cycle. Unfortunately, I can’t tell if your machine has a direct drive motor or a brush motor without the model number. However, I’ll give you some general advice.
If it’s a brush motor, meaning the motor is at the bottom of the machine, inspect the carbon brushes. Even though you’ve cleaned the filter, it doesn’t guarantee that water flows smoothly through the machine and pump to the waste pipe. An issue with the sump hose or an obstruction could prevent proper water flow and stop the spin cycle. So, check the carbon brushes if you have a brush motor.
For more modern machines with direct drive motors, you might face issues with the motor itself, wiring to the circuit board, or a component called a Hall Sensor that detects motor and drum movement. A faulty Hall Sensor is a common problem. If there are no obstructions, and the motor seems fine during diagnostic tests, you may have a circuit board issue.
Without having your machine in front of me and not knowing its model number, it’s hard to provide a precise answer. I’m sorry I can’t offer more help at this time.
