I will try and help with this problem with your Whirlpool AWO/C 71001 washing machine

You could try checking the carbon brushes in the motor first as this is a common fault. If the carbon brushes are worn​ then this may give an ​arking crackly sound.​ ​See all videos below on how to inspect these
