Hi PaulShould I get continuity on both heating elements? I am only getting on one. How do I test the ntc sensor ?

Good morning David I will try and help with this problem…

Here is a typical tumble dryer heating element.

 

 

 

 

 

T​he heating element consists of a high heat setting ​and a low heat setting​, ​there are actually 2 elements in most tumble dryer heating element units​​.​​ ​Both elements together​ ​consist of the high setting and only one of the element​s​ ​are used on the low setting​​,​ both elements use the same neutral​.​​ ​ ​​T​his consists of ​2 live wires and ​1​ ​ neutral​.​​ ​​using your multimeter you need to connect to the neutral and then one Live  and you should have continuity​,​ then on the other side you stay connected to the neutral ​and connect to the other live  and you should have continuity​.​   I have included a video below to show you how Ntc sensors work.
