My Zanussi ZDH8333W Heat Pump Tumble Dryer sometimes stops during the cycle. I’ve been trying to diagnose this issue, which seems to be due to the machine overheating and then stopping. I have cleaned out a HUGE amount of fluff from inside the machine (top, both sides and back removed, and replaced). We have seen Err 71, which I believe points to the NTC1 temperature probe.I found a page of yours giving an answer to E63 on the same model, and helpfully the wiring diagram and exploded views. https://www.how-to-repair.com/faqs/zanussi-zdh8333p-heat-pump-tumble-dryer-shows-e63-error-code/However I’m unable to locate the temperature probe in the machine to be able to test it – can you suggest where it is?I see it shares a loom (and J7 connection to the main board) with the Condense tank sensing – so guess it is in a similar location? If so, is that under the cover marked as 403A on the 3rd exploded view?The machine is heating/drying OK otherwise – and will continue the cycle once it has cooled down and restarted. Plenty of water being extracted.PS – I can’t find a parts list on the E63 page, seems to be missing

Hi Andy sorry to hear about your problem with Zanussi ZDH8333W dryer. If you’ve got a large amount of fluff built up in the machine, yes, that will restrict the airflow and could cause problems with an NTC sensor or something like that.
If you’ve removed a large amount of fluff from inside a heat pump dryer, then you definitely want to check why that’s happening because it shouldn’t be happening in the first place. Make sure the seal in the drum is okay. There’s a small fan that cools the compressor at the front of the dryer. With that large amount of fluff you found inside, I wouldn’t be surprised if the intake at the front of the dryer, which is hidden behind a panel with a screw, is blocked.
The fan may be running, but it’s not drawing air in from the outside to cool the compressor during operation. Also, just check the condenser coil. When you pull down the little filter at the front, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s completely full of fluff as well. Look deep into it.
So, just check the airflow. The dryer is probably struggling somewhere in the drying process to keep it cool due to a fluff blockage. Use your eyesight to check all the areas of ventilation.

You’ll just need to take your time and go through the whole of the workshop manual and all the other technical information we have for you. You’ve got the wiring diagram and schematics, plus a couple of different versions of them. I’ve also added some extra videos at the top to assist you.
