Hellow I have a Zanussi ZWD81660 Washer Dryer. Could you let me know how I can clean the condenser as it is part of the back of the drum.I have been told it my have fluff in it restickitng the heat or could it be a diffent fault.Thank you

Hi Barry, sorry to hear about the issues with your Zanussi washer dryer, model ZWD81660. I’ve got the workshop manual for you, it will show you not only how to test every component, but also the dismantling procedure on this machine. However, it does cover all the test procedures, which should help. I also have the wiring diagram and exploded views of your machine.
The washer dryer has two parts to its heating system. At the top of the machine, there’s a box containing the fan motor, heating element, thermostats, and NTC sensors. Air is pushed through this box and then through the machine to dry clothes. The condensing plate is at the back of the machine. Accessing it is tricky and may require removing the drum, but I don’t have detailed instructions on this.
The condensing plate has a water valve attached that trickles water down its back. Warm, moist air hits this cooler plate, causing condensation. The condensed water then goes to the bottom of the machine and is pumped out. The fan motor drives air through the machine, while the heating system heats it to dry clothes. Both units need thorough cleaning, and it’s important to ensure the fan motor runs fast enough to blow air through the machine.
Also, clean the sump hose at the bottom of the machine and make sure the pump is clear. The heating element usually has a single circuit controlled by a thermostat or NTC sensor. It sounds like an airflow problem or no water on the condensing plate might be causing your dryer issues.
