Test Mode Sequence

If you have problems with the drum not turning or spinning. Then check the carbon brushes in the motor first and test the motor separately before running this Diagnostic sequence as you could do damage to the PCB.

To enter test mode.

It is advisable that washing machine be switched off or at least 5 minutes prior to entering test mode

With the machine switched off shut the door and turn the dial to the 12 o'clock position. Now press and hold down the start/pause button and press the on/off on, while holding the start/pause button down for 3 seconds until the display shows a number or error code.

Now that you've entered the Diagnostic / test mode, remember every time you press the start/pause button this will be one advance the program to a new test.

  • 1: All the the display or led’s will flash to check that they are working and door will now be locked.
  • 2: Drum does a clockwise rotation.
  • 3: Drum rotates anticlockwise rotation
  • 4: Goes into spin mode on clockwise rotation make sure there are no clothes in machine before performing this test as washer will spin at its fastest rpm.
  • 5: right hand water valve check
  • 6: left hand water valve check
  • 7: both water valve are now activated and all 3 compartments will have water flowing in.
  • 6: This is the full wash and heat test. Machine will start to fill to the correct water level and continue to heat and wash.
  • 7: the machine will empty. the pump should drain the water away.
  • 8:After it has finished turn the machine off and on this will go back to normal mode.

Hi I have Beko WX742430B . And due to the on/ off switch being on the selector dial I can’t carry out the self diagnose, is there another way of doing this on the machine , the machine starts a cycle and then stops after a few seconds , the bushes on the machine were down to nothing so replaced them and now suspect that the pcb is broken , any help you can give will be greatly appreciate

Hi i have a beko wtb841r2w that is tripping the rcd ,it can trip it right at the start of the cycle or at any stage during the cycle.

    • This can be many things bad wiring touching the casing, a motor fault or an element braking down without having the machine in front of me it a hard one for me to help on

We have a Beko WME 8227W and suddenly when we are unable to use it. On the main dial the only display that shows details is the Daily Quick one, but even that will not start. All other cycles have no details displayed. Tried pressing & holding Start/Pause/Cancel button for 5 seconds to reset but it made no difference. Also Cleared out some debris in the Filter but still unresponsive. Watched your YouTube video and entered Diagnostic & Testing mode ok, which display a number 8365. When releasing the button the full display illuminates as in your video, but start does not start the Testing Sequence. In fact no button will start the sequence, nothing happens whatsoever.

Please help. I have Beko wash m/c WMB 71442 W.
Has stopped running & I have gone through diagnostic mode.
    1) Clockwise test rotation very jumpy reluctant to run fast. Like a small pulse every other second. Does not pick up proper speed.
    2) Anticlockwise test similar to above.

Motor picks up well to speed later in drying tests both directions.

But the machine will not even start to run when selecting normal wash or spin cycles.

    Please help.
    Cheers.

I have the Beko WMB 91442 LC. The door handle, that opens the latch, broke and I installed a new one. It wouldn’t start a program, but from the first try to start a program it was stuck at that program. I disconnected from the plug for a day and when I turned it on it kept that block. Tried the Child Lock on and off and it stayed the same. I ran the test mode nd understood that it did not lock the door. I checked the new handle and it had a small section that didn’t let the latch go flush against the door. I took it out, carved the the section from the plastic handle and installed again. Turned on the machine, waited and it started working fine.
So, if anyone changes anything on de door, or the door latch, and it starts giving problems, check if the latch is flush to the ride and connecting as it should in the door lock.

    Hi Paul,
First I’d just like to say what an absolute star you. Thankyou so much for sharing your wisdom.
I have an issue with my Beko 7 .I have ran the diagnostic program to your instructions. I’ve unplugged waiting 5 mins( plus) and repeated diagnostics × 5 times .
    First I get a number 1540
    Test 1 to 7 all fuction .
On test 8 the water fills drum to required level . Then nothing for a few seconds .Then the Diagnostics display flicks to the display usually associated with the cotton setting (12 oclock) display Awaiting for me to press start . I turn off machine .unplug. wait .Then plug and turn machine on after turning dial to centrafuge and pump setting (6 o’clock ) And pump out water . This also appears stuck as it pumps and does nothing and the time display if 12 mins cycle never changes .
Can you please give me any insight into what the problem may be and where to check next .
    With sincere gratitute
    Paul Molyneaux

My beko washing machine is not working. The lcd display is on but the lights to the right do not work. Normally the door lock button light is red and then the wash light goes on etc etc. Now when i turn the dial to any setting and press start i get the child lock countdown and then child lock on and then child lock off. The machine is less than 1 year old

    Hi Paul,

    Model : Beko WMB91242LC XL9

I’ve changed the brushes on the motor as per your video, but now have a number 15 16 showing on the screen before it enters test mode, and the drum still won’t turn at all. Any ideas please?

    Many thanks in advance,

Hi, I’ve replaced the heater element on my Beko WM7023W, but it is still not heating. When i get to the fill and heat section of the diagnostics, it doesn’t heat and comes out of diagnostics to the wash programme screen, leaving water in the drum.
Is there a way of ‘resetting’ the appliance so it recognises the new element?

    Error: 0428
    Model: WMB 71443 LE

I got this error 0428 the second time now and it seems that it has something to do with the door. I don‘t know if it can be repaired by myself but I found a workaround for me: slamming the door shut.

This doesn‘t always work on the first try. I sometimes wait for a bit then try it again, shutting the door fast and with force. I know it has worked, when I press the start button and the diagnosis test begins (or the chosen washing program). I then let it run a diagnosis cycle before turning it off and on again. And pray that the next door error 0428 is way in the future and the door (or whichever part is responsible for that error) will last a few more years.

Thanks a lot for the very good instructions and screenshots – the order of the test phases/modes is a bit different with my model, but it helped a lot.
