Bosch, Neff, Siemens washing machine clearing error code F04, F05, f21, F42, F43, F44 this video will show you how to fix the machine.

Reset The Washing Machine Error / Fault code

For most Bosch manufactured washing machines the reset procedure appears to be much the same and is carried out by following the steps as follows in order:

But please take note that you should always fix the fault before trying the reset as the error code is telling you there something wrong!
Then clear the error code as follows
• Turn the program dial to the off or reset position (should be at the 12 o’clock position)
• Turn the dial to the 6 o’clock position
• Press and hold down on the spin button and simultaneously turn the dial to the 7 o’clock position.
• Hold the spin button for around 5 seconds and then release.
• Turn the dial to the off position
• Once the machine is powered up again the error should be reset or cleared.

So when the washer does become faulty it seems like a never ending nightmare. If your washing machine has flagged up with either of the following F04, F05, F21, F42, F43 or F44 error code, the likely offender for this cause would be a faulty motor.

F04
• Motor fault (No tacho signal)
• Program has finished but motor did not start
• Motor attempts to start until the end of the program
This error code is very likely signalling that there is a fault on the motor (can be brushes as well), very possibly a motor winding is open circuit. Motors are expensive; make sure you are 100% certain that the motor is faulty before ordering one.

F05
• Uncontrolled motor startup
• High resistance connections (Carbons faulty)
• Motor spins uncontrolled or motor plug not connected
• Program aborted
Usually when this error is seen it will be the motor carbon brushes that are faulty

F21
• Time out no motor action or
• Long Drain error code which is usually an indication that you may have an obstruction somewhere in the drainage system. Most commonly, there is something lodged in the drain pump or inlet line running from the wash tub to the pump.
F42
• Motor fault
• Check motor connector block
• Check wiring
• Check motor carbon brushes
• Check tacho connections
• Check motor

F43
• Motor fault
• Check motor connector block
• Check wiring
• Check motor carbon brushes
• Check tacho connections
• Check motor

F44
• Motor fault
• Check motor connector block
• Check wiring
• Check motor carbon brushes
• Check tacho connections
• Check motor

    F21 fault. Fitted new brushes to replace worn ones and checked pump working with no blockages.
    Can’t get f21 to reset dispite trying the method you give many times.
    Siemens washing machine WM12E468GB/07.
    Help appreciated
