Cooker door glass has come loose on the bracket or hinge. How to repair

This video will show you how to stick your door glass back on with heat proof glue.

Cooker door glass has come loose on the bracket or hinge. Fixing metal brackets, hinges and glass on oven doors has now become easy with the aid of high temperature silicone or sometimes called glue. It has excellent adhesion with most plastics, rubber, glass, ceramics and metals.
This video is on Cooker door glass, hinges or brackets that have come unstuck or the glass is falling off. We will show you how to remove the old silicone or glue and refit the hinge or bracket as good as new. With our range of different Oven Door Glue kits and silicones that are all very good for high temperatures.

Very often the oven and cooker door glass is sealed, or glued, into place using high heat resistant glue. This same glue is used in some cases to also fix door hinges to oven doors as well and is a black substance that resembles a sort of silicone sealant.

The glue, which we use, is available below this tutorial article. This is especially common on ovens and cookers made by Stoves, Teka, Indesit, Hotpoint, belling etc many of the inner oven door glass panels from them are glued into place.

You may also see oven door hinges or door hinge mounting brackets bonded to a door glass as well. Again, you must allow the time to cure the bonding agent when you replace or refit these or they will fall off. I have learned this the hard way.

Once applied the glue must be allowed to properly set in the case of door glass replacement or indeed oven door hinge replacement for twenty four hours is my rule or the chances are that the repair will fail.

The high temperature silicone sealant used in your video to glue the bracket to the oven door is a clear silicone adhesive, applied without a gun but by squeezing the tube. When clicking to purchase the adhesive, we see ‘Heat Mate Sealant’ with gun. How can I obtain the clear sealant? My job is to re-glue a thin metal bracket to the oven outer door, which then is screwed to the oven inner door.

Some European brands will have a gap at the top of the door where the seal is not complete. This gap has to remain as part of the air wash system for these stoves.
