Candy o Goc 218 Drum will not spin

Capacitor fault. Checked belt and assisted to push when humming which works.

Hi William,

The fact that you can "jump-start" the drum by giving it a push and then it spins on its own it is indeed an indication that the capacitor is faulty and unable to provide the amount of power the motor requires to start rotating. Candy is notorious for not selling capacitors individually they try to sell you the whole motor. I find that ludicrous. Luckily all you need to do is trip the machine, remove the capacitor and replace it with one with the same value. It will be something like 8uf or 10uf. Check yours and buy a universal one with the same capacitance (uF).
