Hoover Tumble Dryer VTV590NC Drum not turning just humming.

Followed your video to replace 7uf capacitor but fault persists with a burning smell.

I will try and help with this problem with your Hoover VTV590NC Tumble Dryer

There are 3 common causes why your tumble dryer will have stopped spinning

• Problem With Tumble Dryer Drive Belt
• A Seized Tumble Dryer Drum
• Faulty Motor or Capacitor

1. Check each of these in order, starting with Tumble Dryer Drive Belt, the drive belt on your tumble dryer can become stretched, loose or completely snap . When this happens, the drum is likely to stop spinning. Manually spin the drum. If the drum is easy to rotate then the belt isn’t providing the resistance it should, and is likely to have either come loose, stretched or snapped
2. If your dryer’s drum is harder to move than you would expect then I suspect the rear drum bearings have worn through.
3. A sign the motor capacitor is the reason for your drum not rotating is a low humming  noise coming from the dryer but the drum  not moving. You’ll be able to narrow it down further to either the motor or capacitor. Spin the drum then close the door, If the drum continues to rotate after closing the door the capacitor is more than likely going to be the reason for the fault. If however, the drum stops rotating the fault is likely to lie with the motor
