if the bearings have gone in the drum I have bad news for you the only way you can change them is to change the whole drum, this is because the drum is sealed, I have written a separate article about seal drums please leave your remarks on this as I find it is disgraceful but manufacturers are doing this.
I have listed the part below it's roughly a 2 hour job to change it

This is the 2nd Hotpoint HV8B593 in 8 years, the first one went the same way bearings gone and sounds like a jet engine about to take off. I bought the dryer at the same time as the 1st washer and had to wait over a year for the engineer, because that model was one of the danger ones that caught fire. Unfortunately, my dishwasher and cooker are all Hotpoint and bought at the same time. I wont be buying Hotpoint again. Which is a shame, because I thought I had bought British, which I have found not to be the case.

It’s reprehensible that manufacturers make these sealed drums, rather than allowing you the option to replace the bearings. It makes the cost of a new machine seem cheaper, which is really unenvironmentally friendly. I wouldn’t have bought this washing machine had I known.
Do you know of any makes of washing machine that do not make the sealed drums, please, so that I can be more careful this time when I replace my washing machine? I’ve had Hotpoint washers all of my life up until now.
    Thank you.
