Leisure GRB6FVK cooker oven tripping electric
Hi There. I have a Leisure cooker which keeps tripping out the electric every time i try to turn the oven on. Could this be a bad element. If so can you let me know the correct replacement element for my cooker. The Model is GRB6FVK. Thanks.
Norman
If Your Leisure GRB6FVK oven trips out the electricity when you turn it on means that their is a short somewhere, this is usually caused by a blown element. When an element blows the current goes to earth and causes the electricity to trip out. It is always good to test the element just to be sure, i have added a video to show you how to do this. I have listed the replacement elements below as well so you can purchase the correct element for your Leisure GRM6FVK Cooker. I have also listed some useful video tutorials which will guide you through fitting the new element. (videos may not be on your exact machine but the process will be similar)
For your future reference, I’ve included some Common faults with these Leisure GRB6FVK or GRB6CVK Oven cookers to assist you in the future or anyone else reading this.
- The oven will not turn on
The first thing you need to check is that the oven timer is not on auto if it is, turn it on to manual.
- No Heat in Oven
If the fan is running and the thermostat light comes on but you get no heat (or just the thermostat light on in non-fan ovens and cookers) then the probability is that the fan element or oven elements have failed.
- Electricity trips (Rcd) when I turn the oven on or grill
This is normally an element that has gone to earth, This is a well-known fault with electric ovens, the insulation breaks down in the elements and trips the RCD , best way is to stick a meter on each element and check that they have not got earth leaks on them. But this can also be a wiring fault.
- The grill element doesn't work
This would usually indicate that the grill element is faulty. Check these: Grill element, Oven changeover switch, Overheat thermostat, Main oven thermostat, if used to regulate the grill temperature.
- The Leisure GRB6FVK or GRB6CVK oven fan is not working or spinning correctly (slow) or is noisy
The fan motor may need to be replaced see video on this also the cooling fan motor can cause same problems.
- The Leisure GRB6FVK or GRB6CVK oven overheats and burns everything
Normally this is a simple thermostat failure which would manifest itself as this symptom.
- The Leisure GRB6FVK or GRB6CVK oven or cooker cuts out after it's been on for a while
This is an overheating problem which can be caused by the fan motor or main oven thermostat or a faulty safety thermostat that will be causing the problem. It can also be caused by a failure of the cooling fan, where fitted, but usually these go noisy before failing, Safety thermostats are used to prevent the oven or cooker overheating and will shut the oven down.

I have a leisure cookmaster ck90f232 during the night the electricity went off and we have traced it back to the cooker. The fusebox switch for the cooker trips off straight away when the fusebox is reset. The cooker wasn’t in use when it tripped. Any ideas?
