This video with help you repair your faulty heating system on Hotpoint indesit tumble dryers with a heater element, thermostat, Ntc senor

This video will help you diagnose the fault with Hotpoint & Indesit tumble dryers that are not heating, and how to repair them.

Both condenser and vented tumble dryers use very similar heating elements. They usually have one or two thermostat sensors on the front and one or two thermostat sensors on the back. and may also have an NTC sensor fitted. The tumble dryer on this video has two thermostats fitted on the heating element housing located on the back. These are prime candidates when diagnosing no heat faults on tumble dryers.

Next, there's the heating element itself that can be faulty and should be tested if the thermostats are ok.

On the front you have a thermostat, you should test it for continuity. There is also an NTC sensor and you should test if for resistance (measured in ohms). this can be fitted to the top of the heater as well.

I have a hotpoint ecf87bpuk, showed f04. Checked bottom water pump etc all clear. Took heater cover off, and heater is falling apart. The 2 stats are closed, but heater not working. How do i test the ptc, and check supply is ok. Whilst testing, the element sparked, and knocked out the trip, but worked since then.
I can get the element cheap, but the complete assy is over £70, so want to avoid that if poss.

The page says: Hotpoint Indesit Tumble dryer not heating Replacing element, but this is about replacing thermostats, not element.

Hi dryer not heating, I’ve continuity tested heating element and 2 thermostats, all open circuit. Your video mentions ntc sensors. But I can’t find them, where are they please and also are they tested like thermostat?
    Many thanks
    Hugh
