How a Condenser Tumble Dryer works

by / Wednesday, 03 December 2014 / Published in Tumble Dryers

This video will show you How a condenser tumble dryer works & How to diagnose problems and find the fault

the difference between the two types of dryer are

  • Vented tumble dryers work by expelling warm, damp air through a hose and out of an open window or a vent installed in an external wall.
  • The condenser tumble dryer removes humidity by using two separate air flows. Air re-circulates inside the machine and is heated. Then it is passed through the damp clothes where it picks up moisture. Damp air is passed through the condenser in one direction while the room air is passed through the condenser in the other direction. This causes the moisture in the air to condense into water which is then pumped to the water tank or out through the hose.

my mother bought a tumble dryer indesit ldc75 secondhand. with no instruction book. Its always worked fine until someone mentioned the container. Now we’ve found out what that drawer at the top is for. However, the container has never collected any water in it. so going on you tube it would appear its the pump? is there anything i can do to test that it isnt something else?

I have a Zanussi ZDC67560W tumble dryer. Just not working. Turn on via selector switch, no lights, nothing turning? The drum moves freely and the condenser and filters are clean / empty? Is there a common fault with this model? Had it 4 yrs. it has in the recent past made a few noises when switched on?!

My hotpoint condenser dryer.,is not collecting the water in the plastic container I’m finding it being gathered at the bottom of the dryer. Could something be blocked.
I’ve cleaned the condenser and cleared fluff can’t understand why it’s not collecting the water in the container drawer. Why would it be going to bottom of dryer at back of condenser unit.
    Thanks Julie

Hotpoint CDT00p Start Swith not staying on?

The machine will not run if start switch released. I have changed the relay on cct board behind front panel and is still the same. it has been intermittent for several months then got worse, sometimes by holding switch and turning timer made it work but that has stopped now. Any ideas.

    Hi
I have a Candy GCH981NA2T that seems to actually work fine. No errors showing. However it stopped producing hot air. No condensed water at all.
I’ve checked all sensors. No apparent problems.
The compressor seems to start, and gets really hot as it should.
Any ideas on what could be wrong?
Hope to be hearing from you soon.
    Sincerely
    Martin
