Checking to see if your Washing machine bearings are worn or your drum spider broke making the machine noisy.

Customer question: My washing machine is noisy on spin.

Answer: This can be a symptom of drum bearing wear. A quick check for wear is to see if the inner drum moves up and down relative to the fixed outer drum. It should only move a small amount. If it moves more than a millimeter or two, it is probably worn bearings. You can obtain bearing kits for most makes around this page.

Customer question: my clothes are getting oil stains on them.

Answer: This is also a sign that the bearings main seal has gone and needs replacing, it’s a good time to do the bearings as well as you have caught the problem before the bearings have started to wear or collapses.

If it is making unusual noises while washing, check there is not a bra wire or similar object trapped between the inner drum and the outer drum. A high pitched whine is sometimes caused by the motor bearings.

NOTE: when replacing bearings, ensure that any bearing seals are replaced with the appropriate new ones from the bearing kit, as many bearing failures are the result of failed seals allowing water to get into the bearings.

I have a Zanussi washer dryer and the bearings and seal have failed, but on inspection the outer drum halfs are bonded/sealed together without screws. Is there anyway to replace the bearings and seal or is this expensive machine now unrepairable.
    The Model number is ZWD12270W1

My BOSCH WAE24465GB is overloading the electrical supply if a heated wash cycle is used. (trips the MCB). OK on cold wash or spin.
What check procedure should I employ please.
    Thanks
