How to service a Condenser Tumble Dryer pump unit, Indesit, Proline, Creda, Ariston & Hotpoint.




On Ariston, Export, Hotpoint-Ariston, Hotpoint, Indesit Tumble Dryers condenser dryers the main difference is that the expelled air will pass over a condenser (hence the name of condenser dryer) which will condense the expelled water and usually pump or drain that water to a tank which can then later be emptied.

This saves the need for an external vent but does complicate the appliance somewhat.

The pump unit normally has a float system with a micro switch. And a electrical pump which is activated by the float switch when the water level rises some tumble dryer have these pumps running constantly.

These pump units can clog and on allot of appliance the floats start to jam because the polystyrene float designates over a period of time.

    Thanks for such a helpful tutorial. I’ve just saved myself some money by servicing my dryer. My reservoir at the back had so much lint that must have been pressing the float!!

    My tumble dryer sreams after so long when I pulled it out the noise is coming out of the pump box at the bottom if I tap it it stops but only for so long do I need a new pump it is a indesit condenser dryer

    Hi all, The empty water light staying on even though the water collector is empty. We have cleaned all filters and have replaced the pump and float but the light still comes on and the water collector is still empty. What we can do next to get the dryer working as it should?

    Hi, In my haste to change the float and pump assembly on my old Indesit condenser dryer, I have forgotten the wiring to the pump and the float micro-switch could come one please help? Could this also be the reason why my tumble dryer is not heating up??
