How to Replace Bosch, Neff & Siemens Fan Oven Element

This cooker tutorial is on a Neff oven that is not heating up or tripping the electric supply (earth trip or Rcd on fuse board) it can be used on free standing Neff cooker or built in cookers.

This is one of many videos on how to replace a fan oven element.

In this video we are working on a Neff built-in oven, but it can also be used for Bosch & Siemens models.

We will show you how to change the heating element and where to buy the part cheaply.

There are two main types of Neff element fitted one is a half moon shape and the other is a circular type. This can also be used also on Bosch and Siemens as they are the same manufacture. See other heating element video tutorials for other appliance manufactures.neff-fan-oven-heating-element

The fan oven that has stopped heating up is one of the most common problems that oven repair & cooker repair engineers are called to. The problem in most cases is simply a faulty fan oven element. To call out the manufacture to replace an oven element is going to cost you in the region of £75 – £125.

Here are the 3 main faults to look for in your oven or cooker that is not heating

If your Oven is not getting hot or heating up it could be a faulty element, if the fan in the oven is running and the thermostat light is on, this will lead us to believe that the element has gone faulty.

When you turn the oven on the household electrical supply trips on the Rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board) your fan oven element has gone to earth and needs replacing.

Your oven will not work until the clock/timer has been re-set after replacing an oven element consult manual.

Note that in some cases the fan oven element fails and it will trip the consumer unit’s rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board). If so then it needs to be re-set, but if every time you turn the fan oven on it keeps tripping then this could be a faulty element that has gone to earth.

The following symptoms should be apparent when testing your oven or cooker:

  • Make sure your timer is not on auto.
  • Check to see if Fan oven is not heating up,
  • Check to see if fan in the oven is working fine,
  • Check to see if thermostat light is on.
  • On removal of the Fan Oven Element there may be visual signs of burning, blowing, or splitting but not in all cases. Is no sign of damage you will have to test with a meter.

Our video instructions will show you exactly how to replace a Neff oven oven element yourself, and save you lots of money!

Hello, I have a neff double oven however the top oven which is also the grill doesn’t seem to heat up enough in order to use as a second oven. It is ok for toasting but that is about all.
What ideas and parts do I need please

    Hello,
I have a Neff single oven and replaced the element myself a couple of years ago. It seems to have gone again – is this normal for it to need replacing so often? Might it be indicative of a wider problem? Grill works fine. Many thanks.

    Hi
My Neff single oven (B1451) does not heat up on fan setting but does on the top/bottom heat setting. Does the fan setting use a different heating element to the top/bottom setting? I’m guessing both settings use the same heating elements and the fan setting simply turns on the fan. If I’m right, this presumably means that the fan setting is turning on the fan but not the heating elements. So does this mean the problem is in the main switch unit? Any help on this would be much appreciated.

    Hi
We have an (old) Neff built-in fan oven. Been working fine. We had our fuse board replaced and now have an RCD which trips when we turn the oven on. Grill is fine. Oven doesn’t trip immediately but after about a minute.

Is this likely to be an element fault? The element has been working but I suppose it could be leaking to earth. But is that consistent with it happening only after a short while?

    Thanks

I have exactly the same issue as Graham had ! Fusebox was recently replaced and now it trips after 1 minute with the oven on but is fine for everything else (light , fan , grill). How do you fix it please ??

I have a Neff double Oven, and have purchased a replacement heating element, I’ve removed the cover but the heating element seems to have been screwed in from the back panel – ie the 2 small crews that attached the heating element, have the thread end of the screw and not the head.
Is this common, and will I have to remove the back panel ?
    Its a NEFF U17S32N5GB/01
    Thanks

Neff oven. The element needs replacing and I gave removed the back plate. but there are no screw heads to unscrew. I can see 2 screw threads holding the element in place but I cannot undo them?
