when you find that your washing machine door lock  or door switch needs replacing due to being faulty or the machine won’t start, All early models Balay, Bosch, Constructa, Hitachi, Lynx, Merker, Neff, Novamatic, Pitsos, Profilo, Schulthess, Siemens & Viva had two screws holding them in place to the front panel of the machine  but on the more modern types they have  a quick-release mechanism which is 2 plastic pins that need to be pressed down as the lock is slid back at a 45 degree angle to remove it.  you will first need to unplug the machine for me electricity Supply,  you will then need to take the retaining band from around the seal that holds it to the front panel,   carefully peel back the  seal unfold it into the drum this will now give you access to the door interlock. If you are not comfortable working in this confined space you need to remove the whole front panel you can see detailed instructions on how to do this in the video.

Common washing machine door lock faults:

The washing machine will not start,

The washing machine door will not open,

The door lock has overheated due to connections.

The metal sliding bar on the door lock has distorted in shape due to being forced.

Thanks sooo much for posting this video! After finding the door latch for our old 2005 Bosch, we just replaced it this morning per your directions. Our washer works again! Thank you for the excellent step by step instructions and all the hints to accomplish the repair. So happy we didn’t have to replace the machine.
