How to Install a New Beko Oven: Understanding Circuit Boards and Proper Cabling
In this repair guide, we're going to explain you the process of fitting a new oven into your kitchen unit. Whether you have a double oven or a single oven, we'll discuss the correct cabling size you need and how to understand the circuit from your fuse board to the appliance. This ensures you avoid any future problems. The cooker we used for filming was a Beko CIMYA91B Oven.
We strongly advise you to watch our video, as it demonstrates the full installation and wiring procedure for a new circuit board-controlled oven.

Importance of Proper Voltage and Amperage
Modern cookers today use advanced circuit board technology, making it crucial to ensure they receive the proper voltage and amperage. Inadequate cabling can lead to a phenomenon known as voltage drop, which can damage the circuit boards. For example, if someone has added an additional socket to a single spur cable or if you're using an inadequate extension lead, the overloaded cable won't carry the required amperage. This can cause significant issues with modern electronics.
Preparing for Installation of the Beko Cooker Oven
First, give yourself enough space to move freely. Slide the cooker over and place it on a sturdy support, such as a crate or small table. If you're working with a double oven, a workbench with a protective towel will help. Proper support is vital not just to prevent damage to the cooker, but also because you might not know the cabling situation behind it.
Disconnecting the Cooker Oven
Cookers can be connected in various ways: hidden sockets behind drawers, adjacent cupboards, or directly behind the cooker. To remove the cooker, locate the screws holding it in place. Single ovens usually have 2-4 screws, while double ovens may have 2-6 screws in total. Once you've unscrewed these, lift the cooker slightly and slide it out. Ensure you check the cupboard to avoid overstretching the cable.
Before handling any cables, you will need to isolate the power supply. This can be done by unplugging the cooker, turning off an isolation switch, or switching off the fuse board. You can use a multimeter set to 240V (or 220V depending on your location) to test the voltage across the live and neutral wires. Ensure no voltage is present before proceeding. If you don't have one, you can buy a new multimeter via our affiliate link.
Since we explain the Ohms law and the voltages for different types of cable used for the ovens, it is worth watching the video.
Accessing and Handling the Junction Box
Once the power is isolated, locate the junction box and release the clips. Test again with the multimeter to ensure it's safe to work on. Disconnect the wires, starting with the neutral. Make sure the neutral wire goes to the correct terminal.
By following these steps, you can safely install your new oven and use it efficiently.
