Diagnosing and Replacing the Heating Element in a Condenser Tumble Dryer

For safety purposes, disconnect the appliance from the electricity supply before starting. All repairs should be carried out by a qualified person.

Removing the Lid, Side & Back Panel of Condenser Dryer
You can start by removing the lid, which gives you access to the side panel. Removing the side panel is crucial as it grants you access to the wiring harness for the heater.
The wiring harness is a simple plug connector. You should disconnect this to proceed with removing the back panel.
Unscrew all the screws securing the back panel. Keep the screws safe in one place, like the bearing cup, and note that some screws may have different thicknesses. Once you have removed all the screws, take off the back panel.
With the back panel removed, you can clearly see the heating element and two thermostats. Unfasten all the cable ties holding the wiring neatly in place and push the wiring harness through the back panel.
Remove the clip that holds the wiring in place and take off the wires from the thermostats. We suggest you draw a wiring diagram showing the colors of the wires you remove from each thermostat. This will help you correctly replace them later.
Removing & Replacing the Condenser Tumble Dryer Heater
Unclip the heater from its location lugs by lifting it slightly upwards. Inspect the heating elements; in the video, one of the heater bars was broken. You should test the element with an electric meter or multimeter for continuity. If one side shows no continuity, the circuit is probably gone, and the element needs replacement.

Replace the tumble dryer heating element with a new one, preferably a genuine manufacturer's element. You can find the exact replacement part on our website by entering your model number.
You should carefully place the tumble dryer heater element into its slots and reconnect the wiring harness following your wiring diagram. Using cable ties will probably help you tidy up the wiring and prevent any wires from snagging on the fan blade at the bottom or the motor.
Before you reassemble the machine, we recommend you vacuum all the compartments to remove any loose fluff, which could become a fire hazard. Then, you can reassemble the side panel and the back panel, but please make sure no wires are trapped.
Finally, you will let the machine run for three or four minutes and then open the door to check if it is heating sufficiently.
If you need any parts for your condenser tumble dryer, you can find them on our site.
