Replacing Filters on a DC01 Vacuum Cleaner

In this repair guide, we will explain how to replace the pre-filters and the HEPA filter on your DC01 vacuum cleaner. We always recommend that any repairs be carried out by a qualified individual and that the appliance is disconnected from the electricity supply before starting.

Please remember that, when working with any electrical appliances, safety should always be your top priority, and we also suggest you watch our video.

Removing the Cyclone Cylinder & Changing the Filters

The first step in this process is to remove the cyclone cylinder from the vacuum cleaner. To do this, you should simply press the button located at the bottom of the cyclone cylinder and gently lift it up, and then the entire cylinder will come off easily.

The next step is to replace the pre-filters. For this demonstration, we used a pack of eight genuine pre-filters in the video. These filters should be replaced regularly to ensure optimal performance from your vacuum cleaner.

To replace the pre-filter, you should first remove the old filter from its cage. Then, you will need to insert the new filter, making sure it fits snugly into the cage, and close the cage. Once the new filter is securely in place, you can reinsert the filter cage back into the vacuum cleaner.

The HEPA filter, on the other hand, is located underneath the vacuum cleaner. Genuine filters have a small tag at the top, which makes them easier to pull out. Sometimes, these filters can be a bit stiff to remove, so you should gently pull them out.

After you remove the old filter, you will insert the new HEPA filter into the vacuum cleaner. Make sure it's properly inserted before closing it down.

Now that you have replaced the filters, take this opportunity to give the cylinder a quick cleanup with a paintbrush, and then you can reassemble the Dyson DC01 vacuum cleaner.

If you're not familiar with how to replace the Dyson DC01 vacuum cleaner filters, we recommend you watch our video thoroughly.
