Firstly, you should remove the thermostat from its holder. Typically, the thermostat is located behind the fan guard plate. For additional safety, you can remove the lens cover and the bulb.

Next, you'll need to remove the panel which is secured with four screws on this particular appliance, although this can vary from model to model. Once the panel is removed, you can easily disconnect the wiring. This process can usually be done from inside the machine, but for clarity, you may also disconnect the wires from the rear of the machine. The wires, which typically include a live wire, a neutral wire, and an earth wire, are usually held on push-fit connectors.

Once you've disconnected the wiring, you will see the element surrounding the fan motor from the front of the appliance. At this point, remove the fan blade for easier access to the element. This element is secured with two screws, one at the bottom and one at the top. However, the number of screws or the type of fasteners can vary depending on the model.
