How To Replace The Beko Vented Tumble Dryer Belt? | Fully Service The Machine
Maintaining and Changing the Belt on a Beko Vented Tumble Dryer
In this guide, we will teach you how to maintain and change your belt on a Beko vented tumble dryer.
If your Beko clothes dryer sounds like it's working but the drum isn't turning, it's likely that the belt has snapped. To check this, please start your machine. If you can hear the machine running but the drum isn't turning when you open the door quickly, this is a sign that the belt has gone.
The belt used on this machine was a 9 PHE 1966.
Please remember that, when working with any electrical appliances, safety should always be your top priority, and we also suggest you watch our video.

Time to Remove the Old Belt
Firstly, disconnect the appliance from the electricity supply. Then, please remove the lid of the machine. This can be done by turning the machine around and locating the three screws at the back. Next, you will need to unscrew these and lift the lid up and away from the machine.
With the lid off and the power supply disconnected, you can easily see the belt. The old belt can still be wrapped around the drum. If the belt is burnt where the motor shaft sits, it means the drum has been spinning on the belt. This is usually due to the machine being overloaded.
Removing the Back Panel & Installing the New Belt
For a thorough maintenance, you should also remove the heater plate cover, the inspection hatch, and the vent tube from the back of the motor. Be very careful when disconnecting the heating system as it is fragile.
Once the back of the machine is off, remove the inspection cover for the motor. Some models will require you to tilt the machine over and go inside to release a screw. Then, remove all the screws around the outside and disconnect the heater.
You may need to disconnect the electrics from the intake to the filter. Before doing this, remove the circlip that holds the shaft to the bearing. Use a small screwdriver to ease it off. Keep the circlip and washer separately and note the order they came off.
With all these steps done, you're ready to replace the belt and maintain your machine.
To install the new belt, you'll first need to wrap it around the drum. Make sure it's tight but not overly strained. Then, position the belt on the motor shaft. Ensure the belt is well-seated on the drum and the motor shaft.

Reassembling the Beko Vented Tumble Dryer
After installing the new belt, the next step is to reassemble your tumble dryer. Start by reconnecting the electrics to the intake and filter. Next, reattach the circlip and washer to the shaft in the order they were removed.
Then, replace the back panel of the machine. This will involve reattaching the inspection cover for the motor, the vent tube, and the heater plate cover. Secure all screws firmly.
Finally, replace the lid of the machine and screw it back into place. Make sure all parts are secure before reconnecting the machine to the power supply.
Once the dryer is reassembled, plug it back into the power supply and start it. Listen for the dryer's normal running sounds and quickly open the door to check if the drum is turning. If the drum is turning and the machine sounds normal, you have successfully replaced the belt.
A broken belt can cause your tumble dryer to stop working properly, but with this guide, you should be able to repair the problem by yourself.
We tried to be concise and give brief information on this guide, so we would recommend you watch our video since we're showing you how easily you can change the belt and maintain your vented tumble dryer.
