How to Fit An Indesit Washing Machine Drum Paddle?

In this repair guide, we will explain how to replace a drum paddle lifter in your Indesit washing machine. This guide is applicable to several models, including Hotpoint, Bompani, Creda, Ariston, and General Electric.

Before we begin, please ensure you disconnect the machine from the electricity supply.

We would recommend you watch our video since we're showing you how easily you can fix your Indesit washing machine drum paddle lifter.

There are three different types of drum paddle lifters. The first version is different from the other two as it features a larger hole. The second version has equal-sized holes with no markings on the front, while the third version also has equal-sized holes but includes markings on the front.

To illustrate the differences, we compared the first and second versions in the video. The third version, not shown there, is identical to the second version. The first version is unique because of its non-reusable design and the larger hole at the top.

To remove this version, you need to depress the tab by inserting a small screwdriver into the third hole, then slide it forward gently. This design allows you to easily remove any foreign objects like socks, coins, or bra wires that may have slipped between the door seal and the drum.

To fit a new paddle, slightly lift the tab again and place the new paddle lifter in position. Ensure the hole at the front is lined up correctly, then slide it backwards until you hear a click, indicating it is locked in place.
