Cotton of unit gets very wet and clothes don’t dry well
John Lewis Tumble dryer JLTDH18 Can’t get into Diagnostic mode
Following the guidance in the video I have tried many times to enter diagnostic mode but no luck. I notice the machine in the video is a JLTDH14 but the controls look identical except that on start up it always selects the “Cupboard Dry” option. Is it a difference button combination required for the JLTDH18?

Hi Paul,
Thank you so much for the video in this model, it was a great help when I opened it up to see what was wrong. I’ll definitely be buying you a beer when this is all over! Now that it’s open, I see I need to replace the belt but I’m also a bit worried that the drum feels stiff to turn by hand. I checked each of the jockey wheels and they spin freely so I wonder whether the felt seals are worn or clogged. In any case to replace the belt I think I need to get the drum loose so will inspect them. For this model, should I get to the drum from the front or the back of the machine?
