Burning smell from tumble dryer blocked vent

burning smell from tumble dryer – builders had blocked vent when machine was in use. Is that fatal?

No I don’t think it’s fatal, the burning smell is most probably fluff burning around the heater, if the tumble dryer has stopped heating in might be a thermostat or you might have blown the heating element.
