Hi Dr ahmed

i will need your full model number to find the part, i think this model has what we call a sealed drum where you cannot change the bearings it is disgustingĀ that the manufacture makes them like this now please have a look at this post to under stand what i mean and feel free toĀ leave your remarksĀ on it. but if you want to go ahead and order the drum the link is here please double check you model number of the id plate.

    Hotpoint WMD642P.
    Please will you advise
Behind the pulley wheel I can see a 30mm spindle and a 62mm – outside diameter – bearing race marked 6206Z.
    1) What size do you estimate the bearing race to be nearest the drum ?
    2) And therefore what bearings set should I buy?
    3) Also what spider would you recommend should this become necessary?

Just asking for an educated guess, it doesn’t matter much if wrong. This will just save several wash-less postal days, I want to order in advance of disassembly

After i split the casing to replace the interior bearing race I will drill holes through the weld lip, glue and bolt back together, as per youtube videos on welded drums.

if its out of warrantee (and by that I mean 5/6 years old not 1 year+ as the bearing should not be going after such a short time and is a manufacturing fault not wear and tear!) then you can replace the bearings you have to disassemble the drum, and buy the bearings separately, the cost is a fraction of what the drum is (probably about Ā£5 or less). but its a bit labour intensive! its definitely not worth fixing/ replacing with the drum as this alone is Ā£150!

As above Herman has the right idea! you can replace with some SKF or brammer bearings..
