My Dishwasher keeps filling with water even when power is off.

by / Friday, 28 November 2014 / Published in

My Dishwasher keeps filling with water and keeps running into machine even when power is off…. I ordered a new valve coil and fitted the valve and put it on the old body. Is this because I didn’t put it in properly when I changed it around?

Hi Jerry if the appliance was filling with water before and did not stop filling, I don’t think it was the coil that was the problem it sounds like it was the valve itself: this could be caused by a few problems,

  1.  you did not put it back together correctly
  2.  there is grit in the water valve ‘keeping it open’
  3.  you might have a split in the diaphragm
  4.  the whole valve is worn and needs replacing

I have an indesit dishwasher… connected it up, turn the power and water tap on. It’s continually filling with water and draining out again. When I turn the power off at the mains water comes out of the machine.
Not sure what’s going on with it.
    Advice needed plz

I bought a bran new F/P dishwasher three years ago BUT did not install it till yesterday! Was in its box the whole time . When I turned the water on it just flows into the unit ,that’s with no power on it . Then starts to overflow, turned water off . Any suggestions? Must be a valve stuck open ?

Frigidaire dishwasher fills with water when off from inlet. Have replaced air gap float switch and water inlet valve/solenoid. Still fills with water. Considering replacing control assembly and possibly control board.
