Off Grid System, Garden Workshop Solar Panel System
Good Afternoon, I want to buy a complete off grid solar kit to power my garden work shop. Can you advise me on what equipment i am going to need to install 24 solar panels including all cabling and any other equipment, like inverter etc. I will build my own ground mount structure to mount the panels. Thank You. Geoff.

I will try and help with this problem...
No Problem at all, to install 24 solar panels you are going to need the solar panels, charge controllers, batteries and inverter. Along with some cables and connectors.
I would adivse using 2 charge controllers, each connected to 12 solar panels. This will evenly balance the system. For each controller you will have 4 strings of 3 panels in series, two strings will be connected to a branch connector. Meaning thre will only be two set of cable coming from the array to each controller.
I would advise using Rolls 4000 6V 298Ah Batteries connected in series to give 48 Volts DC. I would also reccommend using a Victron Phoenix Inverter. I have listed all the parts you will need on the right hand side, i have also added the cost of the parts as well.
This system will produce approx. 50kWh Per day and has a battery storage capacity of 14.3kWh of which 11.5kWh is usable at 80% DOD.
Please give us a call if you need more adivce or if you wish to purchase the system. Or alternaviely as another question on the caontact us page.
