Bosch dishwasher SGI45E16UK/06 impeller jug problem

by / Friday, 02 January 2015 / Published in

Hi, we have a built in Bosch dishwasher SGI45E16UK/06 which kept on filling and emptying. Diagnosed the fault as the impeller jug and replaced that today using your video. The appliance worked for around 3 minutes and then all the power went. Have changed the fuse in the plug and still nothing. There was some water under the machine so it seems there may have been a leak but no immediate signs of where and all the hose clips seemed tight enough. Any ideas, or have I killed it? Many thanks

Nick

Bosch Dishwasher Impeller Jug

Hi nick

There is a chance that when you replaced the impeller jug you might not have done the clips tight enough, if you used the old spring clips then the pipe has gone slight hard over time and the clips aren’t strong enough i would replace them with jubilee clips. If there was water in the bottom or the hose was spraying water on any of the electrics then this would cause a short. Dry the base of the dishwasher completely (use a heater for a few hours) and then try again. Hopefully you have not shorted the main circuit board if you have then it will need to be replaced or repaired.
