Hotpoint Fridge RLAAV22P.1 7C temperature range in larder fridge
At the bottom of the fridge the temperature is cycling between 5C and -2C. There are between 3 and 4 cycles per 24 hours. There is a short rapid rise of 4C that becomes a longer gradual increase. We bought an Elitech temperature logger to investigate the problems and I have log files if you need them. Thanks Steve

I will try and help with Hotpoint Fridge RLAAV22P.1 problem.
The problem here is the capillary tube that comes from the thermostat might not actually be in the correct location where it goes through the back of the fridge down towards the cooling pipes it measures the temperature at the cooling pipe this might actually be - 10 -12 cut in and cut in and out on this range, This should give you a cycling of 2 to 3 degrees in the fridge but as they are mechanical thermostats they are reliant on where the capillary tube is placed. I do not think replacing it on this occasion will necessarily solve the problem, you could try relocating the capillary tube closer to the pipe but this normally means that you have to cut the insulation to get at it. as you have already used Elitech Temperature Data Logger To understand what is happening in your fridge it might be an idea if you are after an accurate reading inside your fridge compartment to fit an electronic thermostat by Elitech.
These electronic thermostats will let you accurately decide when the compressor is going to start and when the compressor is going to stop giving you very accurate temperatures within your fridge compartment.
I have also put an exploded diagram below and some useful videos to assist you

Paul was absolutely correct. Removed the thermostat and light assembly and the red tape on the capillary tube was around 40mm from the hole. Was able to insert the capillary tube a further 25mm or so and the variation in temperature is now less than 3C on a three hour cycle. Very pleased with the fix and a round of drinks is on the way to Paul and his colleagues!
