Beko Diagnostic

 Important notice on Beko

Before entering test mode please be aware that you are not meant to leave the washing machine Unattended. There is a chance the machine can overfill when testing the water valves or the Machine could overheat when testing the heater. Also when entering the test mode make sure the drum is empty as not to cause damage when on spin mode:

Test Mode Sequence

If you have problems with the drum not turning or spinning. Then check the carbon brushes in the motor first and test the motor separately before running this Diagnostic sequence as you could do damage to the PCB.

To enter test mode.

It is advisable that washing machine be switched off or at least 5 minutes prior to entering test mode

With the machine switched off shut the door and turn the dial to the 12 o'clock position. Now press and hold down the start/pause button and press the on/off on, while holding the start/pause button down for 3 seconds until the display shows a number or error code.

Now that you've entered the Diagnostic / test mode, remember every time you press the start/pause button this will be one advance the program to a new test.

  • 1: All the the display or led’s will flash to check that they are working and door will now be locked.
  • 2: Drum does a clockwise rotation.
  • 3: Drum rotates anticlockwise rotation
  • 4: Goes into spin mode on clockwise rotation make sure there are no clothes in machine before performing this test as washer will spin at its fastest rpm.
  • 5: right hand water valve check
  • 6: left hand water valve check
  • 7: both water valve are now activated and all 3 compartments will have water flowing in.
  • 6: This is the full wash and heat test. Machine will start to fill to the correct water level and continue to heat and wash.
  • 7: the machine will empty. the pump should drain the water away.
  • 8:After it has finished turn the machine off and on this will go back to normal mode.

  1. I have a BEKO wmb71642s. Yesterday after a 1200rpm spin i started to notice a bit of burning smell then a bang then the fuses on the house tripped. From then on the machine wont turn and spin, everything else works. Display and programs, even water in and draining work. I have checked the carbon brushes and they are only half way worn, cleaned them a bit but didnt clean the copper point of contact with the brushes, it is black there but not deposits. Could there be an issue with a motherboard fuse or capacitor?..then how can the display work fine but only spinning not? I would appreciate some help. Thank you

    Hi Paul

I found this great website from a link on one of your videos. We have a Beko WMY 8068 LB1. It is showing error code E12. I was thinking to maybe try and put it in diagnostics mode to clear the code, but the dial doesn’t have an indicator mark on it so I can’t set the dial to the 12 o’clock position. So any advice you may have on fixing this E12 error code would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards
    Matt

Take the lid off (2 screws at back) carefully, start the machine and then gently squeeze the black tube from the offending valve, I’d it’s just a little stuck it’ll slowly shut on its own. Do this 3 or 4 times until it shuts on its own. I’d still faulting you’ll need a new valve.

Hi have a womb 8 series. Can’t open the door, now it has stopped washing. Actual door catch stays in when pressed and isn’t returning. Catch maybe broken? Have taken top off. Any idea how I can get the door open to see if it’s the catch or not. With power off will the machine door operating lock auto disengage, in case it’s that stopping it? At the end of a cycle you can hear a click, so think it’s disengaging?

    Hi Paul,

I have a Beko 8kg 1400 rpm a++ WMB 81442 LW excellence washing machine, after doing the diagnostic test mode the only step that did not work was the anti-clockwise rotation, the error code that showed was 15:26 E18, can you tell from the error code what might be the issue and what parts would be required to fix it?

    Cheers

I have a WMB 71243 PTE, after i start it takes water in. then it starts to rotate and after about 1or 2 second it stops and just stays ther. If i pause it and play it again it will again start to rotate and stop after 2s. if i change the operatingmode, same thing will happen. I tried reading the diagnostic code and it showed E05. Any idea whats wrong there and how to get it right?? Thanx in advance.

    Hi Paul
Our WME7267S seems OK throughout the Test mode, except for step 8. when the fabric conditioner Compartment is not siphoning correctly. Appreciate your thoughts on this problem. It seems the conditioner has not been working for some time, however, my wife says that it did perform when she used the Wool setting two days ago.
    Thanks
    Roy

Hi Paul i have a WMY9048LB1 and I’m trying to do what the video says but this model is a full electric version. Is their anything else i can do? The machine doesn’t start working at all and all it does is makes a funny ticking noise and after a few minutes it switches off.

Hello. Many thanks for your thread. My Beko WMB series machine has a flashing temperature and start icon after being turned on and won’t start a washing cycle. There are no fault codes. I can enter diagnostics mode, as per your instructions, but after entering diagnostics mode it won’t cycle through the different diagnostic tests when I press ‘start/pause’.
