AEG T65270AC (91609675200) tumble dryer Will not switch on from on/off switch on front panel

Our Aeg condensing tumble dryer will not switch on from the push switch on the front panel. I have checked mains fuse and microswitch on UI board and these are okay. Checking the main board (elux code 136610230 edr 10621ca) I can not pick up any 5 or 12 Vdc. I have found that R58 has failed - i think this is a 49ohm 4w wire wound resistor but the colour code is not that clear (yellow-white-black-gold I think the bands are). Do you know if this resistor failing would stop the system switching on? I can send a photo if needed. Thank you, Adrian

You almost got the value right. R58 is a 47 ohms 3 watts resistor. Usually when that resistor goes, the LNK364GN AC/DC switching controller goes as well, even if it does not show damage on the outside. I recommend changing both together.
